Braces, Dental insurance for Orthodontic dental services

I am looking for a dental insurance plan that offer braces for a minor. My son is 13 and will need to be getting braces with in the next year or so. I been shopping the cost of the braces he needs and getting quotes from around $4500 – $6000.
This is a lot of money and even though they offer a payment plan during the course of treatment I would like to get dental insurance that can help me out some too.

Many dental insurance plans offer coverages for children Orthodontic services. A few will not have Orthodontic coverages but you should have not problems finding ones that do.
Things to look out for: If you are reviewing PPO or Indemnity dental insurance plans if Braces are included make sure you know if there are any waiting periods and if there is a life time max limitation that will be paid out for braces. Those two things will be important for you to know before buying the plan.
HMO dental insurance plans will show you your cost for braces. Cost is mostly base on having braces for two years so that is something to keep in mind. Also you need to go to listed providers of the plan which is also something you should know if you are wanting to pick your own dentist.
Dental discount plans will save you at least 20 – 25 percent off the cost of braces. You also have to go to their providers but on a discount plan you can have any type of braces up to any age. Which may give you more flexibility when deciding on your son braces and what you want.
